02/11/2005 Archived Entry: "It is possible to shave using CCBill"
Many webmasters think that it is impossible to be shaved if they use CCBill sponsors. One webmaster has poked a massive hole through that belief. He writes:
I might as well try to get an answer on my CCBill question that I've tried to get an answer on several times now without any luck.
Why can a CCBill sponsor add a form variable to its join page that is hosted on their own server that will change the referred webmaster ID?
Example 1.
I send a surfer to a sponsor through a CCBill link code. They go to the join page and click join and is sent to CCBill. There I can see that the referred webmaster is myself.
Example 2.
I send a surfer to a sponsor through a CCBill link code. They go to the join page with a special form variable that has a different webmaster ID, they click join and is sent to CCBill. Now the referred webmaster is not myself, it has the value of what was set on the join page.
I've seen examples of this and I've tried it myself.
What my question is: What use does this have? If they change the referred webmaster, does that mean the person that sent the surfer will not get any credit?
